No Greater Love
Posted on Mon Mar 01 2010 A Report from Rocio Loher Rocio was asked to write an article following the No Greater Love event telling us what she gained from the teaching and time of fellowship for her own life as a single woman. Below is her writing:
I attended an event with occasion of Valentine's Day, organized by Rio Bravo Christian Ministries at Rancho San José. I wasn't too sure of being there because the majority were married couples, but I learned a lot from othe study.
The theme was "There is No Great Love Than to Give your Life." John 15:13 Brother Mario Calderon and His wife, Betty gave a study about marriage. Although I am not married, it turned out to be interesting to me.
He talked about the importance of communication in a marriage. He said that there will be things that exist from our spouses that we may not like, but if we put it in God's hands, we'll be able to handle it. He also mentioned that honesty with one another is fundamental in a marriage. He said lies should not exist because twhen married we are onee and "supposedly" there should be trust. Besides, a lie leads to another and it can be of much destruction.
Another point I learned is how to administer money in a marriage. Right now I don't worry what I do with my money, but in a marriage, money should be well handled as should things concerning your household.
He also talked about correcting your children and guiding them towards God's path. Correcting them today, while they are in the home, so tomorrow there's no tears, and if there are tears, for the tears to be of happiness that our children serve the Lord. Also, how important it is to learn to forgive them as God forgives us.
I don't have a husband or children, but I learned things that I can one day be able to practice, if that's God's will for my life. I don't know what will happen in the future, cause I don't know if I'll have one, but I hope in God. I don't look for what I want, but what God wants for me.
